This home also provides convenient access to Hatteras Island, where you and your family can experience the culture of the island, quaint local village shops, one-of-a-kind cuisine, and famous Hatteras Island attractions, such as the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and The Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum. This is a maritime museum that focuses on the maritime history and shipwrecks of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The museum is located in Hatteras Village, the southern-most community on Hatteras Island, North Carolina, and opened in 2002.

The Town of Nags Head will be conducting a beach renourishment project, scheduled to begin in May 2019 through Fall 2019. Plans call for sand to be placed on 10 miles of beach from the Bonnett Street public beach access near Mile Post 11 south to the town line with the National Park Service near Mile Post 21. We have rented this home for 3 years in a row and the stay this year was much improved over last years stay. The house was in very good condition when we arrived and all of the repairs needed last year were addressed by this years stay. The availability of cooking utensils was appreciated. Currently there is no screen on the main level back door which does not allow for the door to remain open, I thought one of the screens with magnets to ensure closing would be great here. The access to the beach was also excellent and worth every dollar charged. If renters like games to play or books to read they should bring their own there are none of either. Finally, checking and out in at the Kill Devil Hills Sun Realty was rapid, pain free and all personnel were friendly and receptive to feedback.

PERECT vacation!

AWESOME vacation! This house was perfect for us, it is a smaller, beachfront cottage, but worked perfectly for myself, my son and his girlfriend, and my three dogs. Beautiful views, well maintained living/dining areas. Tiny dishwasher and bathrooms, but we expected the latter from prior reviews. In light of the well stocked kitchen, homey touches, and the owner's clear efforts (books, games, puzzles), small bathrooms were not a big deal. 4 stars instead of 5 because we had issues with the dryer, the single chair in the living area felt unstable/uncomfortable (perhaps broken?), and because there is literally zero lighting along the side staircase and outdoor grill area. Makes for a VERY treacherous descent in the evening, and if you plan on grilling after 7:00 pm, be sure to bring a flashlight. Also, although it is advertised that two parking spots are available, this house is at the end of a private street, and there is just room for one vehicle, which cannot be pulled too far forward due to sand. If you need to bring a second vehicle, you will likely have a problem. Finally, due to the tiny bathrooms, I plugged in my blow dryer and curling iron at the vanity in the mater bedroom. WARNING, if you do this and run the upstairs AC unit, you WILL blow a circuit breaker/fuse. The fuse box is NOT easy to locate (on the walk behind the pyramid bunks in the first bedroom to the right), nor are all of the circuits clearly labeled. Nevertheless, location is EVERYTHING. Private beach access (local houses only), and the ocean at your doorstep, cannot be beat! Great local restaurants are minutes away, with easy access to nearby grocery stores. All in all, a fantastic vacation!

Great Location

What a great location. Away from the hustle, right on the beach, equidistant between Jennette's Fishing Pier and Outer Banks Fishing Pier. We enjoyed sitting on the deck while our children played on the beach. Also watched a whale spouting one afternoon. Nice flooring on the main level and upstairs. Lots of closet and drawer space. The bathrooms are just too, too small, making it difficult to help children with bath time and such. People of a certain girth and pregnant women would have trouble making their way between the toilet and sink. The outside shower spout is calcified, and so, not useable. The listing states that the furniture is new, but it seems more new to the house than brand spanking new. Cute house. Wonderful spot.

Great time

We loved this house. It was great for a winter vacation, right on the beach, the views were perfect. We took long walks on the beach with our dogs. It was close to good restaurants and easy shopping but still quiet. The bathrooms were so small it made us laugh. It was cute, clean, accessible and seemed surrounded by water. you can now get to the beach from the side of the house. We wiil be back.

Nice place

This house was very Nice, loved being right on the beach. Great views from all rooms. Very clean and nicely remodeled. The only thing is the bathrooms are very very small. Still great place will be staying there again in future.
