This house was accurately represented in the listing, so while it would have been nice to have "extras" (a TV in a bedroom etc), we knew exactly what we were getting and had a wonderful vacation! We would stay here again, it was a great bargain and a quick walk to the beach, which is the real reason we come to HI. We've definitely stayed in nicer kitchens, but really no complaints. Mattresses were comfy, the couch and love seat were nice. an old school "crate" chair in the living room went unused by us due to lack of comfort, but there were only 3 of us, so it was fine.

Russ Lynn Dunes is a classic Hatteras Island beach cottage from the era of initial beach construction around the Tri-villages. The living/dining/kitchen area is comfortable, although the sofa and love seat could benefit from a scrubbing. The satellite dish menu is the most basic and the television is tiny. Internet connection is adequate. Lighting could benefit from greater luminosity. The kitchen is complete with the exception of dishwasher. The screened porch is the width of the cottage and the chairs are comfortable, but the picnic bench needs the attention of bug exterminator. The bedrooms are appropriately sized for a small cottage and the mattresses are comfortable, but only are double size in two rooms and two twins in the other. The bathroom is adequate as is the powder room. There is an outside shower which also is adequate. The beach access is good with a boardwalk near the rear of the property. The beach is wide and lovely across from the double dunes. The grounds are overgrown and in need of maintenance. The cottage is nestled closely among three more recent additions to the neighborhood all two stories higher that Russ Lynn and, depending on the clientele, can be noisy at times. Russ Lynn Dunes is appropriately priced for leasing, but is in need of lots of maintenance and upkeep. It is a candidate for a major rehad if it is to remain a viable entity. The people at Sun Realty are very nice and helpful.

All beds and sofas were comfortable! Well stocked with dishes/utensils. Dishwasher would be nice. We made most of our meals. Also, more cable channels. We were there during the Olympics and only had network coverage. This house fit our family of 4 well! An additional 2 may have been a little cramped.
