The house was great. I slept soundly and the sofas were welcoming in the mornings for my coffee. The kitchen had more than enough except I’m glad I brought my own wine opener because I have no luck with the one provided. Operator flaw LOL. The home is very comfortable and welcoming and I cannot think of anything it was lacking.

Great location. Driveway is super tight. Pool furniture lounge chairs were broke. Bed were comfy! Sofa on 1st floor had a couple sunken in spots. Kitchen needs at least one more set is cutlery, more plastic cups, light weight plates/bowls. Another set also. Just feel the house needs some replenishing of items. Overall like the house.

This home is very well equipped! House is in a great location with a pool and hot tub with easy access to the beach. Would definitely stay here again!

Good house and a great location.

We will more than likely rent again. The flexible stay is a plus. Proximity to Kill Devil Grill is definitely a bonus! We didn’t cook but the kitchen appeared well equipped.

Beds were fine. Nice king beds. Great house. Fast internet. Nice time.

The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the electronics were too difficult or cumbersome. Beds were very comfortable. There were six adults in our group and someone was always sitting on the floor or at the dining table in the evenings when we gathered together in the evening.

Our family of 8 were all very happy with the bedrooms and living rooms. We don't cook on vacation, but the kitchen was more than adequate. The layout of this house met our needs perfectly.

All beds and furniture were comfy! This kitchen had everything you needed to prepare a meal. Think it would benefit having more flatwear and plastic (reusable) cups. LOVED this house, some things needed a bit of updating. Grill was in rough shape, maybe needs to be replaced. Front lock was hard to unlock from outside, maybe just from salt air. Wonderful home, great location! Can't wait for 2022!!

This beach house is absolutely perfect! This was our first time visiting the Outer Banks and Pelican Briefs was 100% the best choice for my family. It is so cozy and makes you feel right at home. The house was incredibly clean and has literally everything you need. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and untensils, closets full of board games, books, pool toys and items for the beach that you may have forgotten such as beach chairs and a wagon. The top floor has a breathtaking view and the beach is only a 3 minute walk from the house. Sun Reality was also amazing! Our check in/check out was so quick and easy and they made sure we had everything we needed. It was all around a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to return!

This was the perfect place for us! My wife, myself and three girls (8, 6, and 7 months). Restaurants and Beach access was so close and convenient we could walk without carrying either of our “walkers”. We all enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well as playing family games from the available collection. We enjoyed all amenities and can’t think of anything needed that wasn’t available. Looking forward to the next opportunity to visit again!

It was a great house. The master shower is amazing! The beds were comfy. The only thing I found myself wishing I had in the kitchen was a food chopper/processor.

My husband and I had never been to the Outer Banks before and decided this was the time to discover why so many folks vacationed there. We only needed a small place for the two of us, however we like to plan family trips with our grown children and the grandchildren. So, my plan was to scout out a place that we could all plan on spending a week or two that would be perfect for everyone’s needs. We chose to stay at The Pelican Briefs rental house and spoke with Lindsey at Sun Realty to make the reservation. She was very professional and informative which made the no-contact check-in easier than I had expected. When we entered the house, I immediately felt this would be a place of joy for the teenage grandchildren. The first things I saw were a T.V, a refrigerator/sink area and a foosball table along with two comfortable couches (one of which folds out into another bed). This would be a place of fun for the teenage grandchildren! There was also a king bedroom and a full bathroom. There is a wonderful closet full of “extra’s” such as a fold away table, fold up chairs, and a collapsible dog kennel, cornhole set and a yard croquet set. I followed the short hall to the back door and was pleased to see that just as it was pictured online, there was a large hot tub and the pool had just been uncovered for the season (a little earlier than I expected). There was a variety and selection of patio furniture and a gas grill. I then had to investigate the outdoor pool closet and found a treasure chest of fun for the beach and pool! The owners have provided a collection of pool noodles, sand toys, beach chairs, a pop up canopy and two wagons for toting it all to the beach!! I went back in the house to see what else this place had to offer that my family would enjoy and I found the second floor. I could imagine the second floor being full of children. One room is decorated in a Nemo theme, including one of those artificial tropical fish aquarium lights that my granddaughters would love! It has its own bathroom and plenty of room for play. Across the hall from there was another room that had a very “beachy” theme to it with plenty of room and sliding door that led to a balcony and another private bathroom! There is also a cozy sitting room/office-type area with comfy chair that folds-out into a type of twin sized bed. This room opens to the balcony from the second floor as well. It was great to see the owners also thought of making a small refrigerator available (great for some creamer, or a few cans of soda, snacks, etc.) and a Keurig. I proceeded to the third floor and found it to be even prettier and larger than I had seen in the pictures. The dining area was greater than mine at home and there was again, two couches as well as a kitchen bar area and a tall sitting desk for extra seating. There are sliding doors that open onto the top balcony where I found the best view. The king-sized bedroom with a glorious bathroom on the top floor also has sliding door to the balcony where I watched the sunrise on my first morning there. I am particular about where I cook and expected to be unimpressed with what would be offered in the kitchen. To my surprise I was thrilled to find a fully stocked place to create family meals! There was not an appliance I would want (if I was cooking for the family) that was not available. These owners have considered everything! Plenty of cookware and cooking utensils as well as what looked like brand-new place settings for 20 people! Incredible! There was an abundance of coffee cups – I wondered if every time someone stayed there, they left a coffee cup for the “house”. Thinking that may have been the custom, I did the same (LOL). Did I mention there are televisions in every single room? Also….you must check every single room for family and children board games. I was lost count as there were games and books in every single room and closet! The location was fabulous! We walked about three minutes from the house to the beach access point and were blessed to see amazing sunrises every morning. Unless we were staying at a place directly on the beach, we could not have been any closer! We were able walk to restaurants (every single restaurant we ate at was amazing) and if we drove, the drive was quick and painless. We spent a couple of days discovering what the area had to offer and enjoyed the Bodie Island Lighthouse and a day of shopping and another day at Roanoke Island and enjoyed a fantastic lunch in Manteo. I will say, if shopping is something you enjoy – Sundays at Manteo (on the harbor) is not the place to go as all the shops were closed during our visit. However, on our way back we found a shop that was open. The Christmas Shop in Manteo is a must go – even my husband enjoyed the unexpected rooms and hallways with more creative gifts and decorating ideas than we have ever seen behind one little door! This scouting experience has convinced us that the Pelican Briefs will be the perfect place to book a family trip for our group. There will be plenty of room, comfort, entertainment, activities, and beach time for all of them!

This beach house is perfect! Private yet so close to the public beach access. Harris Teeter and Food Lion super close in addition to the outlet mall which is about a 10 minute drive. Each floor has balcony access. Books to read..TV’s galore! Huge dining table for family meals! Super nice pool and hot tub! Parking for 4 vehicles. Corn hole, beach wagon, play pen, card table etc that u don’t need to bring! For additional price they will provide towels/linens but make your own bed. You won’t be disappointed ❤️
