Can't get enough of the fresh ocean air? Ditch the indoor dining table for 6 and enjoy your meal on the furnished oceanfront deck. In addition to a delightful table, the deck also features lounge chairs. If you want to go out for dinner, there are many restaurants close by to decide from.

Overall

It all is about the location. First time staying beach front and it was an awesome week. You can walk to several restaurants/bars. The new driveway and deck were very nice additions as we had a ton of rain one day and it would have been a mess with the older ones. There is a small hill to get to the beach. The house had very nice decor and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for cooking. The view of the beach is obstructed by the dunes (crow's nest would be perfect), and we set off the smoke alarm several times cooking. Stove is small but it served what we needed. The doors did not close easily, but other than those couple of issues, it was the perfect place (and location) for us.

Overall

We loved being able to find an oceanfront 3BR house just the right size for our family of 4, as so many of the current oceanfront rental properties are far too large for us. Location and proximity to shops/restaurants is perfect, and walkability to Avalon pier was great for those who want to fish! The house was very clean and well kept; the only improvement I would make would be to upgrade the stove/oven - it is functional but a bit dated in comparison to the other appliances in the home. Kitchen was very well-appointed. Beds were comfortable. Wonderful deck! Dune does partially block the view of the water, but it also serves to protect the house, and my children enjoyed watching the ghost crabs and small birds along the dune. My family has vacationed at various places along the Outer Banks for many years, and this was one of the best properties we've rented. We are hoping to return next year.

The home was perfectly located and very well decorated. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and then some! We did a lot of cooking there. The washer and dryer were great, and we were able to do laundry throughout the week! Beds were super comfortable. The view of the ocean is almost completely obstructed by the growing dune. The far left and right corners of the back porch are the only spots where you can see the ocean. The back porch is where we spent a ton of time. It definitely felt like our home away from home, and as always we were sad to leave the OBX.

We thought this was the best house we have ever stayed in. The house is in a perfect place and you can see the sunset over the ocean. You do have to walk up a dune to get to the ocean. Overall it's very clean and has a nice atmosphere. Everyone was comfortable. The new washer and dryer were a plus. I came home with no laundry to do. The queen bed overlooks the ocean, though the room is small. Two bathrooms was amazing and the master bath shower was awesome with a tile seat! You can see and walk to the Avalon Pier and Awful Arthur's. It's about 8-10 houses down. We love Kill Devil Hills because the houses are in the sand, and this one is.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful! Decorated so nice and very comfortable beds. Kitchen was very well stocked. The only thing we missed was having an ice maker on the frig. The pictures didn’t really show how high the sand dune was so our view was obstructed. That is always a priority when we rent a place n the beach. I was told the dune wasn’t there that long. Other than that it was the perfect beach cottage. Made you feel at home.
