This home has everything you need. We always get the linen package for ease. Bedding is comfortable and fashionable. Kitchen has everything you need. Well stocked. Have stayed here several years and love the house and location.

The "Just Right" House
Not only is the location unbeatable -- you're on the beach but also walking distance to Duck Cottage for your morning coffee and newspaper -- but this home has been more thoughtfully designed than almost any other I've seen. The upstairs living area provides an amazing spot for a bit of privacy (and will help accommodate different sleeping hours for various guests who might not appreciate the sound of TV at night), but let's be real: The point of beach houses in the OBX is to bring families together, and this home does that beautifully. The kitchen and grill combine to make the place wonderful for the chef(s); the hot tub helps even non-swimmers enjoy the beach; the abundant deck space facing all directions means you get both sunrises and sunsets to enjoy together. I've got nothing but compliments to both Sun Realty and the owner of this home, who both make us feel so welcome at Gray Man's Dune.

Very well equipped kitchen with knives, pots, and pans. Everything was comfortable and more importantly clean! The home was very well equipped. I do enjoy when homes have board games to entertain on rainy days. This was a great house, but also don’t want to recommend so to avoid competition for future years :)

second time here— we love it
Great house— we love it! Everything was very comfortable, but could use a little more drawer space in master bedroom (maybe in form of nightstands w drawers?) Great kitchen, but fridge was too cold. We adjusted it to a normal fridge temp, but still lost some produce bc it froze. Our second time here— we love it! Perfect for our family.

perfect location, great beach, wonderful house
We've stayed at this house in multiple years. Right on the beach. Great kitchen, even without sink disposal. The beds and the living area are very comfortable. Only downside is that it's next to a public access way, which means I felt compelled to go out and set up our tent at 7 a.m., as the public tends to move on the beach for set up pretty early in the morning. But it's a perfect location, great beach, wonderful house situated very conveniently in a wonderful OBX town.

Great house! Overall great amenities. Location was amazing and perfect setup. Kitchen, well stocked, everything we needed! Comfy beds and nice furniture. Only minor negative was A/C struggled at night on two of the hotter days.

Perfect Get Away
Perfect house for my wife and myself to relax and unwind. Our 4th year in this house and love it. Duck is such a great community and the house is ideal. Beach access and easy walk to the town and all it has to offer. Met several "year round" locals and they are great. Plan to return as often as we can.

Wonderful Getaway!
This was the perfect house for us -- second time we've stayed here! With our children and 2 grandchildren and 2 dogs joining us, and considering our reservation about crowds during the pandemic, we needed a place that had easy access to the beach and enough room for us to spend lots of time in the house. This house filled the bill! Wonderfully maintained, modern, great view of the ocean, short walk up a well-maintained dune-pier to the beach. We just love this property.

Didn't want to come home!
The pictures of the house do not do the house justice! The kitchen was spacious and better equipped than my kitchen at home. The entire house just felt like home but better! The views are amazing and the location was perfect. No time wasted in traffic since everything was right down the road and across the street. We especially appreciated the full tank of propane with the grill.

Fantastic Beach House
I hesitate to write this review because this house is so nice we don't want others to rent it out from under us! And frankly the photos don't do the house justice. It is very clean, with a modern kitchen, modern bathrooms, and very comfortable bedrooms. The upstairs den with a front and back patio deck is perfect for late-afternoon happy hours and late-evening relaxing. And the walkway to the beach makes the sand and ocean easily accessible! It's also relatively close to town. The ONLY downside is that there is a public access way right next to the house, which means that the beach directly in back can get crowded. So stake your beach claim early! With high tide coming in around 11:30 a.m. on our visit, from 9 - 2 there's not a big stretch of beach in back of the house -- which is good, because no one will put their chairs/umbrellas in between you and the ocean. We'll definitely try to rent this house again when we come back to Duck!

Amazing house - great location!
This place was amazing. We had 4 adults and 5 kids - and it was perfect for two families with small children. The house is right on the beach with two great decks. We could walk or drive a minute to shops and stores. The kitchen is incredible and we would highly recommend this house.

What a Gem!
Truly, this house is a gem. Not only is the location fantastic -- you're right on the beach, and definitely within biking distance of Duck itself -- but the house is thoughtfully designed and decorated, down to the smallest details. We stayed here with our two young children and a second family, also with two young children, so there were eight of us in the home, but we never once felt cramped or lacking for creature comforts. The upstairs living space provides a nice "away room" from the hustle and bustle on the main floor, and the main floor brings everyone together beautifully. The kitchen is extremely well laid-out and a pleasure in which to work. My only (very small) criticism is that the kitchen knives could use sharpening. All in all, we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Wonderful Stay
We stayed in this house over Christmas and it was wonderful! The pictures don't do the home justice. We're a family of five with a Golden Retriever and a boyfriend along and it was perfect. The kitchen is very well stocked. I brought some of my own pots from home and didn't need to. I love to cook and didn't miss anything. The house was immaculate when we arrived. The furnishing are very comfortable and the colors are beautiful. Having bed linens provided was a nice bonus. Really, our only complaint was the bed in the master bedroom. The mattress was very hard and uncomfortable. If we stay here again (which we definitely would) we'll bring some type of mattress pad for the bed. There's plenty of space for a family to spread out, but not so much that you feel like you're not even vacationing together. We would highly recommend this home to our friends.

The house is beautiful with the remodeling that was done. I will inform the owners of the toilet flushing maybe he can but some insulation in the walls for the sound.

Lovely House
We stayed in this house six years ago, and the renovation has made it almost unrecognizable -- beautiful new kitchen and bathrooms, gorgeous hardwood floors, and overall just an extremely comfortable place to stay. Great to be right on the beach, and the hot tub was a nice extra. The only thing that could be improved is the soundproofing -- when a toilet flushed upstairs, it sounded like a waterfall was running through the downstairs bedroom wall -- but other than that I'd say the house is perfect for a smallish group (we had 6).

We stayed at this house over the Fourth of July, 2008. Everything was as promised. The house was clean and neat. Great access to the beach. We will consider returning to this rental property.

A NEW house for 2011!!! Old Man's Dune has been completely remodeled inside and out!! New siding on the outside, new landscaping, Kitchen and baths competely redone, New Living furniture, new bedspreads.

We stayed at Old Man's Dune the last week of August 2007. The thing we enjoyed most was the great location - right on the beach, and a short drive to Duck. The house is a little bit old, but we plan to visit again next year.
