Affordable, traditional Hatteras beach cottage located oceanside and only a 5-minute walk (approximate) to the beach. Bedrooms and living area upstairs only. Doubletree Dunes features two bedrooms with bunk bed and single and two bedrooms with a double bed. Close to grocery stores, shops and restaurants.

Guest access to washer/dryer is under the house via entry by the outdoor shower. Please note the first level of the property is not for use or accessible by guests.

Thank you to the owners

This is a no-frills type of place, due to the low price we weren't expecting much, but pretty much everything worked; so no complaints. Basic beds, but everything was there. Kitchen had the basics, coffee maker, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave toaster. You get what you pay for with this place, good location but a 10 min walk from the beach. The washer/dryer we wished were on the same floor, but knew that would be challenging to get them installed in the living area. We are not disappointed just giving the 3 star rating due to the quality of the place. Thank you to the owners for making this available!

Good value, Good location, good beds, loud traffic

Pros: -The beach here is wide and nice. This property was high and dry when avon flooded last week from overwash -Fast and plentiful hot water -Ketch 55 restaurant is nearby -Sound and ocean vehicle access and parking lots are nearby -Nice porch, plenty of seating inside and out. Cons -You cannot do calls / webex / zoom outside because traffic is too loud -You will wake up 6am some mornings from traffic. Suggestion for owner: replace the windows to reduce the sound. -Kitchen has basics and needs more silverware so not running the dishwasher every day -Den and screened porch could use a little more lighting.

Back to Basics

Family of 8 had a great time at this house. No frills and no fuss but that was what we wanted. Nothing but the basics made this house easy to settle into and didn't distract from our goal of spending lots of time at the beach. Funny that there still weren't any clocks in the house. Not a big deal to us. The kitchen was sparse- so much so that we had to supplement with purchases from the local thrift store and Dollar Store. We do a lot of cooking though so maybe that wouldn't be a problem for others. Only 8 forks for a house that sleeps 10 was kind of a pain. To my kids disappointment, no movies, books, games, puzzles etc. were left from previous renters and/or the owners, and we couldn't get the DVD player to work. The TV worked fine. The beds were very comfortable and our kids all commented on how comfortable the couches were. Decor wasn't typical for a beach house but we did appreciate the total lack of knick knacks- nothing to worry about our littlest ones breaking. Another wonderful trip to the OBX!!

*Unheated pools are generally open the 2nd week of May – the 2nd week of October each year. Heated pools are generally open the 2nd week of April – the 3rd week of October.
