quick walk to beach
The house had everything that was promised. The walk to the beach was quick and easy but I would recommend bug spray for the evening time. We used the screened in porch every night we were there and it was fantastic! The views from the top deck gave sunrise and sunset views. Also, the reviews said the beds were hard- we found them comfy!

Perfect location
Perfect location for us! The kitchen was equipped with things we needed. All beds and living room seating was comfortable. Needs adequate circulation of a/c in bedrooms.

Fish Dance
The cottage is a nice find in a quiet neighborhood. Very basic and worked well for our family. As an FYI- the king bed was VERY firm and we could not find pot holders in the kitchen. The screened in front porch was a one of our families favorite spots for cards and meals. The interior is a bit dated, but works well for a close walk to the ocean.

This beach house was as expected, we did enjoy our week. Bring lots of bug spray... with all the rain mosquitoes are really bad. Nice location from the beach. The house was ok... things to note: beds are hard to sleep on, so if you are used to soft mattress bring a mattress pad. Appliances work but certainly could use an update. Washer and dryer on premises work just fine. Outdoor shower and charcoal grill. Enclosed porch ok needs some work though. Could not locate dish towels so remember to bring with you. DVD player does not work with blue rays disc. This review is not a complaint but more of what to expect. The house was advertised as it truly is.

Overall we had a wonderful time at Fish Dance. It should be noted that the property is a little dated. The furniture and carpet are a bit worn. The kitchen is spacious and newly renovated, but lacks some essentials (such as oven mitts, food storage/gladware, cookie sheets and other useful pots and pans). Light bulbs were also burnt out and batteries were missing from the smoke detectors. However, the house is well stocked with puzzles and books for a rainy day and the screened in porch is great. Lastly, there were a lot of bugs, so come prepared with bug spray. It's a close walk to the beach and located close to several restaurants, coffee shops and the grocery store.

Close to beach!
Very comfortable home close to the beach. We spent 2 weeks in Fishdance in June and had a great time! Front porch is nice with a cross breeze, beds are comfy, kitchen spacious and well equipped. Top deck was great when the beach was too windy! Various family members have stayed in this home since 1986! Love it!
Will probably return!

Great Family Vacation!
Spent a week at Fishdance late July/early August 2012. Had 7 in our family with ages ranging from 18 to 85. Was a comfortable family getaway. The beach is very close and clean. Kitchen is large and well equipped. Beds were comfortable and plenty of room for all. Liked the big screen TV and screened porch. This would be a great place to visit in the Fall and off months. All water activites you want are close by. We will definitely come back to Avon and Hatteras next OBX vacation. Thanks for a great time!
