We recently visited the newest restaurant in Duck, NC. The Paper Canoe offers fresh, simple food in a polished casual atmosphere with a stunning waterfront view. This ale house and wine bar also features a wood-fired oven.  According to our very informative waitress, they have only been open for 2 months. Well you couldn't tell. The food was incredible and the service was top notch as well.

We started off with barbeque spring rolls, which came with a sweet & sour sauce. They were amazing! I had the iceberg salad with bacon & blue cheese, not only was it delicious, but the portion was huge! For our main courses; I enjoyed the backyard shrimp. This dish had white beans, sausage, shrimp and fire roasted tomatoes, in a mild broth. It was incredible, great flavor, but light! My friend had the bone-in grilled pork chop. It came with spinach, whipped potatoes and a savory gravy. His portion was too big to finish, even with my help!

Next time you are in Duck, check out the Paper canoe, located on the Currituck Sound on the north end of Duck, across from the Sanderling Inn. It’s open for dinner daily. Not only is the food amazing, but you get to enjoy a beautiful Outer Banks sunset while you dine.
