The Outer Banks of North Carolina is fortunate to have an abundance of fresh local seafood and quality restaurants. Last night a local restaurant and brewery, the Outer Banks Brewing Station, was featured on the Food Network's show Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives.

The Outer Banks Brewing Station started out as Eric Reese and Aubrey Davis dream and in 2001 it became a reality. This local OBX restaurant and brewery is America’s first brewery to be powered by a wind turbine, which made it perfect for this episode of Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives. This episode featured restaurants that sourced local ingredients and practiced sustainability. The Outer Banks Brewing Station in Kill Devil Hills, NC highlighted their shrimp and grits dish which included micro greens, local shrimp, grits, and homemade sweet potato chips. Chef “Pok” Choeichom cooked the shrimp to perfection having Guy Fieri (host of the show) exclaim “if I lived in town you would see me once a week”.

Next time you stay down on the Outer Banks, be sure to indulge in some of our delicious local eateries and check out the Outer Banks Brewing Station located at milepost 8 ½ (look for the wind turbine)!

Also, if you missed the show last night, no worries, it is set to rerun on Nov 06, 2012 at 1:00 AM ET and Nov 16, 2012 at 9:00 PM ET on the Food Network.
