Put on your racing shoes and get ready to run! The Flying Pirate Half Marathon is set for April 14, 2013. The Flying Pirate  Half Marathon is more than just a race; it is a weekend of activities. The Flying Pirate Half Marathon weekend hosts a fun run, a race expo and the First Flight 5k. Visit the race expo on both Friday and Saturday. Challenge yourself with the Double Dare Challenge, run the 5k on Saturday and the half marathon on Sunday! After 13.1 mile run from Kitty Hawk to Nags Head, along the Albemarle Sound around the Wright Brothers National memorial, and through Nags Head woods maritime forest celebrate the finish with live music and beer at the Pirate Jamboree post race party in Nags Head.

**Please note the Alligator River Bridge will be closed for repairs during the weekend of the race.**

North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) detours will be marked.During the closure, motorists traveling from Columbia should use the following signed detour: N.C. 94 South to U.S. 264 East to U.S. 64.Motorists traveling from Dare County should use the following signed detour: U.S. 264 West to N.C. 94 North to U.S. 64
