Did you know that April is North Carolina Beer month? The Outer Banks has been monumental in the development of micro breweries both state and nationwide. Home to North Carolina’s oldest micro brewery and the first wind powered brewery, the Outer Banks offers a one of kind beer experience. Enjoy live music, local micro brews, and complimentary tastings from Corolla to Hatteras Island. Celebrate beer month on the Outer Banks!

Here are some places to stop on your brew tour:

The Weeping Radish
•North Carolina’s brew pub history began right here on the Outer Banks with Uli Bennewitz. Uli Bennewitz, owner of the Weeping Radish, lobbied for a law to allow breweries to sell directly to the public. He has been serving up his 100% natural German style brews since 1986.

The Shack Coffee Shop and Beer and Wine Garden
•Located just north of the Currituck Lighthouse in Corolla, NC the Shack Coffee Shop and Beer and Wine Garden offers an experience unlike any other. Opening for the season April 24, they have live music nightly and serve up micro brews, craft, import, and domestic beers in the “Beer Garden”.

Sweet T’s -Coffee, Beer and Wine
•Located in the heart of Duck this eclectic shop offers over 200 bottled craft beers as well as five rotating selections on draft. Don't miss out on their weekly events, every Thursday is "Pint Day" all day and Saturday is "Free Beer Samples with Big Jim" from 5pm-7pm.

Trio
•Focusing on micro brews, Trio offers 250+ beers and holds daily North Carolina Beer tastings. Stop by on Tuesday night for pint night. Order a pint or a bottle of the featured brew and take home a logo’d pint glass (while supplies last).

The Brewing Station
•Bronze medal winner at the World Beer Cup in 2012 for their Vitis Reductus Weisse, a German Style Sour Ale and the first wind powered brewery in the United States, the Outer Banks Brewing Station offers beer enthusiast an experience to remember. Constantly experimenting with their brews you can choose from a variety of taste.

Chips Beer and Wine Market
•Check out Chips Beer and Wine Market beer wall offering a wide selection of over 500 beers. Choose to sample a few or grab a pint and relax in the tasting lounge.

Full Moon Café and Grill
•Located in downtown Manteo Full Moon Café and Grill specializes in British and Irish Beers. They serve up seven North Carolina brews and three of their own brews. Plan your visit ahead of time and schedule a brewery tour. 

Good Winds Seafood and Wine Bar
•Select from a variety of canned beers,great American craft beers,or craft pints on draft. Located on the soundfront in Rodanthe it is the perfect place to kick back with a cold one and watch the sunset.

Breakwater Restaurant and Bar
•On the southern end of Hatteras Island enjoy one of the seasonal beer favorites from Chapel Hill’s award winning Carolina Brewery.
