One of my favorite restaurants growing  up on the Outer Banks was the Fisherman’s Wharf in Wanchese. It was closed for a few years but has been reopened by the Daniels family and it’s just as good as I remember! It’s still a treat to head down the winding road, to the end of Wanchese, where the restaurant overlooks the Roanoke Sound and sits over the “fish house” where boats deliver their fresh catch daily.

The expansive windows provide a panoramic view of Wanchese Harborand boats that are coming to the marina. The restaurant serves only the freshest seafood, some of the best on the beach. Fried shrimp are a personal favorite and you can’t miss their hushpuppies!  If you’re looking for fantastic seafood and a gorgeous view, it’s worth the drive. Dining at Fisherman’s Wharf is an authentic Outer Banks experience.
