Every Friday night on the Outer Banks, locals and vacationers gather to listen to the sweet sounds of Low Pressure, a guitar-playing vocalist trio, at Ocean Boulevard Bistro and Martini Bar in Kitty Hawk. There's no cover charge for the 6-10 p.m. shows.
Whalehead Wednesdays
Featuring wine and live music, each Wednesday from the beginning of June to mid-September, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at Whalehead in Historic Corolla.
$20 per person general admission (includes souvenir glass); free for non-drinking adults and children.
The Outer Banks Sand Sculpture Festival will be held June 29-July 1 at Kitty Hawk Kites in Nags Head. Located across from Jockey's Ridge State Park at milepost 12.5, the festival features the professional sand sculpting team Sandtastic. The work begins at 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning (June 29) and will continue through mid-afternoon Thursday (June 30).
The 10th Annual Under the Oaks Art Festival begins tomorrow, June 22. From 10-6 p.m. on June 22 and June 23 you can stroll underneath the Oak trees at Currituck Heritage Park and the Whalehead Club in Corolla and view artwork by more than 100 artists from across the nation.
