One way to signal in the great times of summer on the Outer Banks is First Friday, an outdoor celebration along the downtown Manteo waterfront on – you guessed it – the first Friday of each month. The first Friday in May 2011 ushers in another season of excitement for all. From 4-8 p.m. you can shop stores filled with unique trinkets and more, eat at local restaurants and enjoy live music on the streets from 6-8 p.m.

Sun Realty, the largest vacation rental company on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, celebrated Earth Day 2011 by harnessing the power of social media in an effort that raised $748 dollars worth of supplies for the Outer Banks non-profit N.E.S.T.
Sun Realty is known for its pet-friendly vacation rentals. Recently D.C. based blogger, Elaine Jean, featured Sun Realty in a blog post titled "Not Quite Ruffing-It, A Dog-Friendly Trip to the Outer Banks".
The Grand Opening of the newly reconstructed Jennette’s Pier is less than a month away. On Saturday, May 21 at 11 a.m. Jennette’s Pier will open to the public.
