The Event: An annual entertainment extravaganza! The 4th Annual Duck Jazz Festival will take place Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the Duck Town Park. The event is free of charge, the gates are set to open at approximately 10:00 a.m. and the music will began at 11:00 a.m.

The Lineup: Every year extraordinary groups of musicians play a range of musical styles suited to every taste from swing to blues and red-hot jazz. Philadelphia-based jazz musician Gerald Veasley, who was the festival headliner in 2008 and played with Jimmy Bruno at the first Duck Jazz Festival in 2007, is set to co-host the festival and a series of events throughout Duck.

Currently scheduled to appear at this year's festival are:

The Roy Muth Big Band featuring Laura Martier from Virginia Beach, VA at 11:00 a.m.

Big Rick and The Bombers from Wake Forest, NC at 12:30 p.m.

Adrian Crutchfield from Charlotte, NC at 2:00 p.m.

Joyce Cooling from San Francisco, CA at 3:45 p.m.

Who loves it: The Duck Jazz Festival has attracted nearly 5,000 locals and visitors in years past. This event grows every year due to the word of mouth of past attendees who enjoyed themselves so much they keep coming for more. Some sit on the grass relaxing with a picnic while others dance in the streets til dark! Before, during and after the Jazz Festival, there's plenty to do in and around Duck - great shopping and seafood dining, art galleries, antique shops and the spectacular views of the sound.

Get Ready: Festival organizers suggest attendees bring a picnic, beverages, chairs, or blankets (no beach umbrellas or tents are permitted). For those who like to travel light, food concessions will be provided by the Duck United Methodist Church in the picnic shelter and chairs will also be available for rent.
