Summer 2017 Will Be Fun in the Sun with the Opening of an OBX Waterpark

The Outer Banks of North Carolina is one of the east coast's most sought after vacation destinations. Visitors come to explore beautiful beaches, to eat fresh seafood, and to tour historic attractions. Beginning in 2017, guests will have an added attraction, the Outer Banks' only waterpark.

H2OBX Waterpark Adventure will feature a nautical theme, incorporating unique elements that pay homage to local lore and legacy. Plans for the park encompass 80 acres in lower Currituck County, just two miles north of the Wright Memorial Bridge, and include many exciting thrill rides; a wave pol; an adventure lagoon and lazy river, and a FlowRider surf attraction. A dedicated, state-of-the-art children's adventure area, private cabanas, WIFI, and retail shops within the park are designed to guarantee a good time for the whole family.

"We are very excited to be working with the entire Outer Banks community to deliver a world-class waterpark that will deliver an exciting new entertainment option for vacationers," said Arthur Berry, III, part of the five-member development team. If vacationers tire of the beach or are looking for another option to traditional sand and surf, H2OBX will be that option.

Attendance at the waterpark will be capped at 5,000 guests per day. Construction has begun, and the waterpark is expected to be open by the summer of 2017.
