Photographer and part-time OBX local, David Harvey , depicts the Outer Banks and shares his childhood memories and experiences on "the best stretch of coast on the planet." His eloquent photography captures the essence of the Outer Banks. A vacation destination for sure, but more than that, a historical, “ribbon of fragile barrier islands”, ripe with wildlife, capricious weather, great waves, and fascinating people.
In the 9 page article, Harvey discusses everything from surfing the waves of the OBX, getting married on the beach, to the hundreds of species of birds that call the OBX home. He describes his journey to the Outer Banks and why he decided to call it ‘home’. Harvey mentions that the pace on the OBX “suits me better”.
