Storm debris pick-up for the unincorporated areas includes all of Hatteras Island, Manteo outside, Wanchese, Manns Harbor, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Martins Point, and Colington (including inside the gate):

Storm Debris should be placed on the side of the road for pick up. Debris should be placed in 4 separate piles:

1.  Vegetative Debris (limbs, leaves, branches, sea grass, etc.)

2.  Construction and Demolition Materials (building materials, concrete, shingles, etc.)

3.  Metal

Sun Realty employee receives prestigious customer service award at the Annual Currituck County Chamber of Commerce Meeting

Corolla, NC -Sun Realty recently celebrated a notable achievement in customer service by Floyd Hoskinson. Floyd was recognized for his outstanding customer service to visitors of The Currituck Outer Banks. The award was presented by Lynn Minges, former Assistant Sec. for Tourism, Marketing & Global Branding, at the Annual Currituck Chamber of Commerce Meeting.

Highway 12 from Oregon Inlet to Rodanthe on Hatteras Island remains closed.  The only access to Hatteras Island is by ferry until further notice.  NCDOT is operating Emergency ferry service between Stumpy Point and Rodanthe along with the Hatteras-Ocracoke route.

Beginning Friday, November 2 at 6:00 a.m. all reentry restrictions for Hatteras Island will be lifted and ferry service will be available for everyone, including visitors.
