Vacation in a well maintained, bright and airy cottage. The owner has made many improvements for your enjoyment for 2013 which includes Mattresses, new hot tub and Internet. This home has good ocean views, and is just 150’ to the beach access. Bring the whole family as up to two well mannered pets are welcome. You will love this location and this cottage and so will the fur babies. Located at MP 20.5 in South Nags Head. Wide sandy beaches, newly expanded decks and pet friendly. Nothing better.

  • My family enjoyed our stay
    My family enjoyed our stay in this charming well decorated house. Note that at present, houses being reclaimed by the sea are nearby, so be on the lookout for debris on the beach. Also, the foot wash in the outside shower does not work because the knob is frozen.




  • Cozy and well-kept
    We stayed at Sand in my Shoes for one week in early Aug. 2010. If was a fine rental house, but a bit cozy. The plusses were its (virtually) oceanfront location, and the quiet neighborhood. It was clean, well-equipped. The minuses were the close quarters, not a house if you want some space. We all congregated in the central great room with kitchen at the back. You just didn't have much elbow room. Nice front deck and a small back deck. The dryer needed repair-it wouldn't automatically shut off, and was never repaired during our stay. Short, short walk to the beach. The beach was more crowded than most South Nags Head beaches because of condemned houses nearby causing beachgoers to crowd together at the end of our street. All in all, a good place, but tight quarters.

    In your comment you say something about condemmed houses nearby. Do you mean run down? Also, was there plenty of beach in front of the house? It looks like there is a marsh in front?

  • Summer Delight
    My family is in love with this vacation home. Tastefully decorated and fully equipped, Sand in My Shoes feels like home, but at the beach! The partially covered deck is especially appreciated; we can enjoy the outdoors in comfort whether the sun is hot or there is light rain.. Wonderful! The dogs are thrilled with the beach, and so are we. We want to come back every year. Thank you for this lovely home for a week.
