We love First Wind. We have stayed in this house for the last 3 years and will be staying in this house again this year. The location of this house is amazing. We love that we can sit on the deck and talk to our children on the beach! Our only problem with this house is that we've noticed a lot of wear and tear on the house. Last year there were alot of things broken or not working properly and some of the furnishing were getting worn out. For a house of this size, we would love to see an additional Refrigerator in the kitchen. It would be nice to see some nice updates made to the house - but overall we have enjoyed staying at this house!

Fourth time on the OBX, but
Fourth time on the OBX, but first time with such a big family group needing such a large house, and first time to be oceanfront. We may be spoiled forever! To find this house, right on the ocean, and more affordable than some, was fabulous. The pictures on website do not do this house justice. It is way nicer, and way bigger, than it appears! The furnishings are slightly dated but more than adequate, but there are lovely decorator touches, and there is even more space in the living room area and family room than you see. Bedrooms are good size too. We had 24 adults/older children and six babies (including two brand new) and were never crowded. We spent the day on beach and in the pool and sat down for dinner every night together with room to spare. Don't worry about it being in a commercial area--there are hotels on each side but you barely notice them and the beach COMPLETELY clears out and you have it to yourselves by about 5 PM.

We stayed in this house 2 yrs ago. We went back to another location in Salvo this year and were we disappointed. We were spoiled by first wind, its closeness to the ocean, the rooms, the large refridgerators and multiple dishwashers and washers and dryers. If I can return to the OBX I will try to return to First Wind...its views were the best ever!
