The location of Salt Palace was excellent. We loved being on the beach and enjoyed the close proximity to Nags Head Pier. The house itself, however, is in need of some TLC. There are many items in the house that are in need of repair. There are 3 blenders, none that work. Three toasters, most not operational. The electric reclining couch in the living room is broken. The door leading to the hot tub is broken, and 90% or more of the deck chairs are broken. The pool alarm was not working, which we didn’t realize until halfway through our stay. The bedrooms on the first & second floor are lovely, yet the comforters and pillow shams need laundering, which is not included, even with linen service. The bedrooms on the bottom floor are in desperate need of a good cleaning. The shower curtains were coated along the bottom in black mold. The pool filter was broken, meaning there was a great deal of sand in the pool the entire week. When we did contact maintence, problems concerning the pool alarm & pool filter were addressed, which was helpful. Bottom line... the house is in need of some attention. Personally, I would be hesitant to rent Salt Palace without confirmation that the above mentioned problems were addressed.
