Corolla

Historic Corolla Park is a great place to picnic with the entire family. Massive live oak trees provide the perfect canopy for a leisurely afternoon. Dogs must be on a leash.



Dogs on the Beach

Kitty Hawk

Kitty Hawk Dog Park features two fenced dog areas, one for larger dogs and one for smaller dogs. There's also a water fountain and a small shaded area with seating. A walking trail, playground, and restrooms are on site. The Kitty Hawk Dog Park is open to all residents and visitors of Dare County. In order to receive the keycode for entrance and exit through the gate at the Kitty Hawk Dog Park, dog owners are required to complete the Kitty Hawk Dog Park Application

Kill Devil Hills

Mary's Paws Park is a feature of Aviation Park, and has three designated areas for large dogs, small dogs, and senior dogs and dogs with special needs. Aviation Park also features a fitness trail, playground, and restrooms. 

Wright Brothers National Memorial is the official site of Orville and Wilbur Wright’s first powered flight. Pets must remain on a leash no longer than 6’ in length.

Nags Head

Nags Head Dog Park includes two fenced areas, one for large dogs and one for small dogs less than 30 pounds. The park is shaded and provides ample space for dogs to make new friends and exercise. A water station is a nice touch and a double-door entrance/exit system prevents escapes. Located next to the soccer fields at Satterfield Landing Soccer Complex.

Jockey’s Ridge State Park in Nags Head offers expansive open dunes as well as wildlife trails and picnic areas. Pets must be on a leash no longer than 6’ long. Remember that the sand (no matter where you go), is 15-20 degrees hotter than the air temperature. Remember to keep your dog's paws off the hot sand and bring lots of water!

Manteo

Roanoke Island Dog Park is open to all residents and visitors of Dare County and offers two fenced areas, one for large dogs and one for small dogs. The dogs can enjoy a large grass area and water features, while the people can enjoy a shaded canopy. In order to receive the keycode for entrance and exit through the gate at the Roanoke Island Dog Park, dog owners are required to complete the Roanoke Island Dog Park Application.

Hatteras

Cape Hatteras National Seashore is one of the most dog-friendly beaches on the Outer Banks. Dogs must be kept on a leash no longer than 6’ in length while in the park. There are miles of beautiful beaches to explore.

The Holistic Pet Shop in Kill Devil Hills is a great place for dogs to have fun in a safe and caring environment. The professional and loving staff will help you with your holistic choices and general information for pet supplies and comfort bedding. 

Outer Barks
Located in Duck, Outer Barks offers a large selection of unique gifts and supplies for every dog lover. Weekly “Yappy Happy Hour” and “Barker Brunch”.  Humans are welcome to accompany their canine friends to all events!

PetSmart
Located in Nags Head. PetSmart offers a varity of options: Dog food, treats, healthcare, grooming, and training.

This pet-friendly shop in Avon has an in-store bakery where you can see what is baking fresh each day, as well as a boutique section with top quality pet supplies and accessories, plus unique gifts and souvenirs for animal lovers.
