The dogs really enjoyed the fishing charter with Grandpa's Charters in Wanchese.  They also loved the Duck Soundside Boardwalk in Duck.  It was nice to take them out at night, be able to listen to music, and have a drink.  First Friday in Manteo was a lot of fun.  Full Moon Brewery is pet friendly, food was excellent, and they have a wide variety of drinks.  The best pet friendly beaches are in Nags Head.  We stayed at SS Osprey 293 last year and have rebooked for 2014.  It was an excellent home for pets and children with a large fenced yard, sunken hot tub right in the deck, inground pool, direct access to the yard from the master bedroom.  Also, the gates swing back and lock automatically on the deck, making it safer for pets/kids.  House was nicely equipped and fairly close to the beach.
