Cape Myers offers bright natural light and a large amount of deck space, complete with top level sun deck for laying out and soaking up the sun. Nicely furnished in a private setting, this home offers relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the main road. This 5 bedroom, 3 bath home is complete with internet access to stay in touch with family and friends, and provides a smoke-free interior. Lower level has a pool table, half bath and washer and dryer.

Conveniently located in the heart of Kitty Hawk, Cape Myers is only a short drive to the beach, the Wright Brothers Memorial, and Jockey’s Ridge. This home is in a quiet neighborhood on the west side of the highway, for a more peaceful vacation experience. Cape Myers’ favorable location, near MP 4.5 of Croatan Highway, puts you near all of the great Outer Banks destinations and activities. Those looking for adventure can enjoy other outdoor recreational activities such as water sports, hang gliding, or fishing from the surf or piers. More laid back vacationers can enjoy the local shopping, dining, and site seeing. Several popular restaurants are within walking distance of Cape Myers. You will be close to everything needed to have a fantastic, memorable OBX vacation.

The Kitty Hawk Fishing Pier is located on the beach road at MP 1 and the Avalon Fishing Pier is at MP 6. These are perfect places to take a stroll out over the ocean, grab your fishing gear to see what’s biting, or bring your surfboard along and head out to catch some waves!
The beauty and wildlife of the sound await exploration. A short walk down the street takes you to a walking and bike path adjacent to Kitty Hawk Bay. Bring your bikes and enjoy several cycling routes on the west side. When the sun and surf at the beach beckon, walk the ½ mile to the beach or drive and park near the public beach access at Kitty Hawk Road.

Hidden Treasure

This house is worth renting. The pool is a huge bonus not to mention the layout of the house...perfect. A few things we think could use extra attention: the sun deck for sure!!! The railings did not seem very secure as they were a little wobbly. Some of the boards along both decks need to be replaced or resecured. The kitchen could use a proper restocking of additional cookware considering the house sleeps 10, one set of pots and pans isnt enough. A sturdy set of cooking utensils would also be a huge improvement. There were plenty of coffee mugs and silverware. The pool table is fun for entertaining in the evenings or on a rainy day however we were a little disppointed to have been surprised by the owners SUV being stored on the otherside of the garage. Granted this space isnt listed as a feature however the pictures of this house shows an open space. We were looking forward to the space as an indoor play area for rhe litttle ones. Our family enjoyed the house and our vacation again it is a hidden treasure!!!

Thanks for your feedback as we greatly appreciate it. We believe Cape Myers is a great vacation place and love hearing what other people enjoy.  We do have plans within the next few years to replace all decks and have some other exterior upgrades. Decks require annual maintenance and this has been done for 2016.  The kitchen is re-stocked every May as required for a group of 10 guests.   If there is a key item missing please report this to Sun.  Thank you again for sharing your experience with us. We hope you’ll join us again for your next Outer Banks vacation.

Home Away From Home.

We had a blast staying in this roomy and homey cottage! The house was decorated wonderfully and we couldn't ask for much more in a cottage! Pros The newly installed pool was a life saver on days you were just too lazy to get out to the beach. The pool table in the garage is awesome and much of our time was spent out there having pool tournaments. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of kitchen tools, which made it much easier for me to cook on vacation. Cons There seemed to be a bit of an ant problem from the get go, but that's more the cleaning crews fault than the cottages. The second floor hallway bath tub seems extremely rickety. When you get in it it buckles if you don't stand directly on the support beam. I could go on and on about the merits of this cottage. It seems well loved and the owners have made vast improvements. I would love to rent this cottage again next year, many fond memories from here.

We want to note from a previous review that the soft floor under one of the bathtubs has been corrected. In addition, we are happy to announce that in early 2015 we are adding a hot tub and a new ground floor restroom which will be very convenient to the pool area. We hope our guests enjoy Cape Myers as much as we do and we look forward to an exciting 2015.
*Please note that bed and bath linens are not a standard amenity. Guests may bring their own bed sheets and bath towels from home or you may rent them from Sun Realty for a reasonable weekly price. However, some properties do offer linens as a bonus amenity (refer to the property description for details). Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about bed or bath linens.

*Pools for 2020: Heated pools are generally open from the 2nd week of April to the 3rd week of October, while unheated pools are generally open from the second week of May to the 2nd week of October. Hot tubs are open year-round, unless otherwise specified. Should you have any questions regarding the pool at your vacation home, please feel free to contact us.
