Oceanfront - A property in which no other buildable lot or road is between you and the beach. This may or may not have an oceanview or protective dune. Distance to the ocean and views from each unit varies.
Semi Oceanfront - A property located one lot back from oceanfront. May or may not have a road to cross. Distance to ocean and views vary from property to property.
Semi OF/BchRd - A property west of Hwy. 12. You will cross Hwy. 12 and go to nearest access to get to the ocean. Distance to beach access and views vary.
Oceanside - Those properties east of NC 12 with one or more properties between you and the ocean. The distance back from the beach will be listed in the unit description. These cottages may or may not have an oceanview. (For Southern Shores this would be east of Ocean Blvd.)
Beach Road - The area from Kitty Hawk through South Nags Head which is on the west side of NC 12 with no cottages between NC 12 and the property. This type of property may or may not have direct beach access. Distance to beach, views and number of properties between property and ocean vary. (For South Nags Head properties is west of Old Oregon Inlet Road.)
Between the Roads - This property is located between NC 12 and 158 Bypass in Kitty Hawk through Nags Head. (For South Nags Head properties this would be between NC 12 and Old Oregon Inlet Road; For Southern Shores properties this would be between Ocean Blvd. and NC 12.)
Westside - Those properties west of 158 Bypass from Kitty Hawk through Nags Head. (For Southern Shores properties this would be west of NC 12.)
Soundside - Properties west of NC 12 which may or may not have direct access to the sound. Distances and views will vary.
Soundfront - Properties directly fronting the sound. Sound access, views and distances to the sound will vary.
Dunes - Southern Shores properties located 1 or more lots west of NC 12, starting North of where Ocean Blvd. branches off to the right and Duck Rd. begins.
