Visiting Duck in October is wonderful. The weather is warm and the Jazz is HOT..!! We came down for the Jazz Festival in October with our parents and it was absolutely right on time. The people, music and atmosphere were even better than in past years. Cool beans..!!

OBX First timers

We just got back this weekend from our first trip to OBX. It WILL NOT be our last!!! We loved it. We were there to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday and we had a great week. Thanks SUN for helping to make it great through the booking, check-in, check-out. The house was great and the whole week was awesome. Zoee, our four legged child loved it as much as our kids did. It was a great plus to be able to bring the dog. She loved the water and then loved doing "sand angels" when she got out of the water, covering herself with sand. Can't wait to come back to OBX!

Tradewinds South - A dream vacation!

We have been vacationing in the outer banks four years now. Previously we were up north by Sanbridge for a couple of years. Tradewinds South was the absolute best house we had the pleasure of renting. There were so many extra ammentities that were not even listed on the web. It felt as if this was someone's private beach house that we somehow got to rent for the week. From the hundreds of books, games, and DVD's (many of them BLURAY) the kids never missed a beat. No need to bring sand toys to this mecca. It is fully equipped with countless shovels, buckets and many other toys for the kids. Bieng beachfront with your own pool is the way to go, especially if you have kids! Every room is equipped with its own bathroom as well! The only draw back is that it only has 5 rooms and we have too many people going next year to rent this house again. I would definatly recomend Tradewinds South to anybody.
Sun Realty is by far the best company we have evr rented from. This was the first time, and we will never stray to another company. Everything about the company is professional. We have already booked Sandcastle for next year(2011). If anyone has a tale about sandcastle please share it. We are very exited and can't wait till the brutal Cleveland winter is over to escape to the paradise of OBX!

Duck Fans!

We had never visited Duck. Boy, what we'd been missing! We really liked the area, the selection of restaurants, sites, and most of all, being away from all the commercialism. This is the first family vacation we've taken since our children were small. We brought the whole bunch with us, and had a really great time! One of our fondest memories was the evening we spent crabbing. We had no experience, no supplies, and no idea of how to go about it. We were fortunate to find everything we needed at our rental, and ended up having a blast! This was a great way to spend our 18th wedding anniversary and reconnect with our kids!

5 years and going strong

Once again, driving down the driveway to the beach house in Rodanthe is like driving home. We have been doing this now for 5 years, 4 years in the same house and absolutely love it. My family comes from Virginia Beach and Raleigh, NC and my sister's family comes from Laurel, MD and the Eastern Shore. Prior planning of meals makes vacation time great since we don't have to go to the grocery store. Our last night there is always pizza night. We let the kids make their own and we use up the leftovers from the week. I can't think of any place I would rather be on vacation but on the Outer Banks!

newbie to the ocean along

Fabulous time during July 2010. Brad had never seen the ocean, been in a jacuzzi, or a big boat on the sound. He was so happy there. Next year we are going crabbing and rent a gulfstream charter at Oregon Inlet( second time for me). I have been a vacationer on the OBX since A BABY (I am almost 50). The locals treat us well. I enjoy going to WINKS SUPERMARKET. This last trip we stayed on beach road in Kitty Hawk.

Great Family Vacation at Corolla beach

A great time was had by all 11 of us, including 6 adults and 5 grandchildren, the youngest being 7 months old! The house was great, with its unique private pool, and it was especially nice to have access to the Corolla Light Trolley to the beach and its 3 pools, etc.

Avon Memories!

We used to live on Hatteras Island 13 years ago! Finally made it back to play tourist! This time with two kids. The memories and special places near and dear to our hearts were the same as we remembered. Our kids want us to move back in the worst way. They had nothing but fun! My son now has a Yellow Fin Tunsa tail nailed to our garage! Thank you Harbor House Seafood Market! We'll never forget you! LOL! We are in Ohio now and miss the awesome seafood, beaches, and sunsets already. We haven't stopped talking about our vacation! I think a few friends will be heading down there with all of the promoting we've been doing! I know they will love it! Our only complaint is that my husband and I can't decide on who gets to keep the Sun Realty Cup! We need another one!

great times

We just had a wonderful time here. This is my fourth time visiting here, three of which with my evergrowing family. What is so wonderful is that the first time I came here was in the 70's. I never came back until 1999. I was thrilled that what I had remembered as a young adult had not changed that much at all. I love how the islanders have protected and kept the ambiance of this area! And to be able to share it with my son when he was eight years old, just learning to explore the world was just the best, he will never forget it. Now we came this time with all the kids and grandkids and it has bonded us as nothing else could have. The memories!!!!!
