The sweeping ocean views from the large sun deck with handcrafted furniture will provide the serene surroundings for your vacation! Enjoy direct beach access and the gorgeous coastline outside your door.

Located in the great neighborhood of Hatteras Colony, in Avon, this 3 Bedroom/2.5 Bathroom home is sure to provide all the space you need in a location you’ll want to be. Dunesday

We've been vacationing in OBX for a decade and have had our share of experiences both good and bad. This year rated as our least favorite by far. Since we have small children, we always rent an oceanfront cottage as it makes the multiple trips to the house slightly less painful. This is important to us and one of the major criteria we use in selecting a cottage. In reviewing the photos and written description of the property, the information provided is accurate; the home is oceanfront with approximately 100ft to beach access. What is omitted, regrettably, is any mention of the nearly three story dune you must scale in order to access the beach. It's nearly a ninety degree climb. Virtually IMPASSABLE with small children (to include a suckling babe in arms) and necessary beach equipment. There is a public beach access two houses down, but why should I pay for that inconvenience? The interior is perfectly adequate, although the pitch of the staircases does take some time to get used to. Kitchen is well appointed and bathrooms are updated - nothing egregious there. The leaking sink and raging ant infestation we encountered upon check in were quickly addressed by maintenance and we were most appreciative of that. I would not stay here again, nor would I recommend this property. A mention of the scale of the dune would be a necessary addition to the property description and a dune stairway would be a welcome improvement for future guests. Perhaps if your party consists of mountain climbers versus able bodied young parents and their children, this is the place for you.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent vacation experience at Crow’s Nest, HC2-21. The home is definitely one of our most popular homes with numerous repeat guests. I apologize you felt the protective dune was an inconvenience to access the beach from the house. I have reviewed the information advertised online and feel the website photos depict the dune line between the house and the beach and reference the beach access path. Many areas on the Outer Banks have a protective dune line while other areas may not. When securing your next vacation I encourage you to inquire as to specifics of beach accessibility in hopes of eliminating inconvenience. We welcome another opportunity to be of service to you and will do our best to meet your vacation expectations based on your needs and wants in a vacation home. Thank you again!
