Private Ocean access behind the house, 10 feet from cottage to beach! Newly renovated in 2010 with breezy beach theme and brand new carpeting, paint and furniture. The cottage is perfect for a family or couples. The downstairs area has an outside shower, built in barbeque grill, utility/laundry room with beach chairs and toys. All one Level: Pyrmid bedroom, Queen bedroom, Kitchen, Dining room and Living room, one hall bath. Views of the ocean from Kitchen and Dining room.

A nice place for a family of 4 on our very first vacation in OBX...at affordable price with a great view!
Cons:
1. Kitchen and dining stay warmer than rest of the home (not a lot of air flow out the vents in the back of the home). Kitchen has that "old cottage smell" especially when you open the cabinets. And kitchen is dated, but has a decent size fridge/freezer and dishwasher.
2) Bathroom is "Cruise Ship" tiny. If you are anywhere near 6' tall, prepare to squat in the shower to be able to get your hair wet.
3) Being on the lower level, you will hear footsteps from top level at times Not a big deal for us.
4) Carpet in living room and Master BR doesn't go all the way against the wall. Same with flooring in the bathroom.
Pros:
1) We spent a lot of time at night on the screened in porch which kept the bugs out (although a ceiling fan would be a nice addition for those humid nights but most nights, the ocean breeze was just fine)
2) Master BR has a large dresser with mirror (which is welcome since bathroom is tiny). Also has a lot of drawers and storage.
3) 2nd Bedroom is a bunk bed (Full on bottom and Single on top, not the twin beds in the picture). This bedroom also has a vertical tower fan in the room.
4) Beach Chairs, boogie boards, buckets, etc provided in garage (didn't know about this)
5) Master BR also had a small 12" LCD TV which was just fine for us.
6) Outdoor shower is great...nice and big, plus has Hot and cold water. Use this one when you can since bathroom shower is so small
7) The view, the view, the view! Also, being directly on the beach...down some steps and you are there!
8) Quiet beach, for the most part. Not very crowded. Although when we left, they were just starting to set up equipment for the beach rejuvenation project. Glad this wasn't happening while we were there (large pipe spitting out sand and a bulldozer moving it around all day).
9) Close walk to the nearest pier
10) Nice decorations on walls, tables, etc. Subtle, but nice.
11) Sony LCD TV (32" or so) in family room with separate DVD player.
12) Shared laundry room with brand new washer and dryer.
