I would highly recommend renting this beach home on a vacation to OBX any time!! The location of the house was terrific.
Its just a very very short walk to the beach, stores, and restaurants. The neighbors are friendly. Has a basketball hoop for the kids (bring your own ball), and washer / dryer. During our stay, in the evenings you could hear the waves crash onto the shores. The decking and patios are really relaxing and nice. My grandfather spent a lot of time out there due to his illness but enjoyed the views and space on the decks. The grill was a nice touch (believe we were the 1st to use it.) The shower under the porch was fantastic for when we came home from the beach to wash sand and salt water off before entering the house. Kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans and every utensil you could ever think of needing.
Some things that I wish were different were the TV situations. The main TV was taken up by the grand folks who spent most of their time at the property. That left 2 TVs to fight over,1 was located in the master bedroom and another in the sun room. The problem with that is people couldn't watch TV in the sun room because the volume from the living room TV clashes with the TV in the sun room and becomes annoying. As for the master bedroom TV it worked out fantastic for the tenants of that room, just not the 3 others who wanted to watch TV as the rain stopped. TVs in all the bedrooms would have been perfect for everyone . Another negative was the locks. When we would head out, it became a struggle at times to lock the front door. The insides look rusted which made it difficult turning the key to lock the doors. My final flaw would be the garbage. When we were there garbage ran once a week, the sheet confused us as to when we set it out, So we missed the date and had filled the entire can up. We kept an eye on the neighbors to see if anyone else had their cans out but never saw them put one out. An extra can for times like this (even if its a smaller one) would do wonders.
Over all great experience and it slept 7 people plus a 2yr old 100lb Chocolate Lab comfortably. Id rent it again.. Thanks to the home owners and Sun Realty for helping to make are OBX stay incredible!!!
