A short stroll to Avalon Pier and Awful Arthur's; a short drive to most everything else; a flight of steps to the sand! Now that's location!
As others have said, it's a house for the dedicated beach bum. I've stayed in four on the beach, and none have ever had a better oceanfront deck! It's huge and largely covered, which is great for when it rains but you still want to sit outside and contemplate the surf between chapters of a good book.
Kitchen well equipped; bathrooms adequate; no carpeting on main level (upper level carpeted); outside showers pretty much unusable (need dug out -- but it was a tad too cool anyway).
No AC was no problem in September, as the temps never got above 80. In fact, the electric heat came in handy a few nights. Being a bit of a techno-nut, I could've done with internet access, mostly to check various restaurant menus and other local info, but my smart phone sufficed for the most part. For a two week stay, the washer/dryer was invaluable, allowing me to pack half as much.
Sadly, most deck furniture had been badly treated, and so was unusable. I'm kind of used to such inconveniences, though, vacationing as I do at the end of the season, after many other renters had used (and misused) the furnishings. My folding beach chair easily took care of that issue.
This is not luxury. This is a bit of good ol' Outer Banks, before it became the OBX. If you're lay back and easy going, you should enjoy Roaring 20's.
