The house has a great layout and is very clean and the furnishings are modern. The location in Duck is perfect...close to the beach on a quiet street within walking distance of all the great shops. We LOVED the pool, the large fenced-in yard, and appreciate the pet-friendliness of the house as well as OBX in general.
We were disappointed that many items had mechanical problems. The baby gate was broken and couldn't be used (luckily we brought a couple with us), the toaster started smoking and sparking when we used it the first time and we discovered exposed wires on it (we bought a new one and left it in the kitchen for future renters), the sliding glass door on the top level is broken and won't lock, the blender is old and doesn't chop ice (making frosty summer drinks impossible), and the doorbell is broken so you never know when the pizza arrives unless someone is watching from the deck!
Despite these items and just some general maintenance issues, we'd still highly recommend the house based on the layout, pool, pet-friendliness and location, but hope that these items will be corrected for future renters.
